Top 5 Places To Eat & Drink In Costa Adeje

There's a slight tightness in the crease of your eye where you've missed a patch of sun block, hairs wavy from the pool, the daily meltdown over the holiday outfit is well on its way and after all of that, the only thing that truly matters is choosing the perfect place to eat.

We spent five days in Tenerife taste testing TikTok viral restaurants, indulging promoters and giving their recommendations a chance and of course banking on a little bit of luck that a hidden gem would fall in our lap. So after numerous Ceaser salad bowels, I've put together an honest bank of reviews and recommendations to elevate your next visit!

THE GINGER PIG

Going viral is always the goal, but unfortunately it can come at a cost. Crowded restaurants and a lengthy wait for the bill, but our experience at the Ginger Pig couldn't have been further from it. When we arrived it was full, so booking in advance is definitely the safter option, but luckily for us they got us in and wow did we get given a table with a view ...

First off, we have to commend the service, lively and bubbly, attentive and polite, it was a pleasant elevation to the common experience. When the atmosphere is booming and the drinks are flowing the only thing you can hope for is the food to be on par and well it's safe to say we were by no means disappointed. We opted for one chicken and cheese burger, one beef burger and a healthy side of onion rings, a mouth-watering start to the evening. When we visit again the ribs are certainly next on my list too! Of course it would have been rude to leave without a sweet treat so next up was a brownie for two. D E L I C I O U S.

Based in the town, The Ginger Pig is a great experience from start to finish and if you're a foodie and a meat lover then the ideal place to start your holiday off with a flavoursome bang.

AEl Gran Sol Lounge Bar

Next up on our foodie adventure was a trip to AEL Gran Sol Lounge Bar for a bite of lunch. After a morning of basking under the UV9 sunshine, we had hoped to try the viral mozzarella sticks at The Winchester, but (our fault for not thinking ahead) the wait for a table was too long to call it a post sunburn bite! On a whim we spotted a row of tables just above the coastline filled with laughter, so we checked it out.

If you head up the stairs just to the right of The Winchester you'll see a restaurant that feels like it goes for miles, well that is because the owner also has many other restaurants along the strip offering the same superb level of cuisine. Opting for a seat in the sun, we were welcomed with a friendly smile and left with a large menu of food and drinks to choose from. Kicking lunch off with a fresh pint of Moretti and a 500ml jug of sangria, we were ready to order.

My first Ceaser salad of the holiday went down a treat. All be it presentation means a lot in the eyes of a hungry by passer, but on this occasion I plead for you to take my word for it when I say it tasted better than it looked! My salad was sweet and crunchy, the perfect portion to fill the void between the hotel breaky and dinner and when paired with a view overlooking the ocean, there's simply no complaints.

Unfortunately we did end up waiting a while for our bill but to be honest when you're on holiday and in the sun, where else is there to be in such a rush?

LUUMA

Come to Luuma with us! @emilycolesss (TikTok)

Another TikTok recommended stop and we have mixed reviews, but here's why I think it should still make the cut as a must stop during your visit to Tenerife. We arrived at Luuma and joined a big queue for a table, it took around 15 minutes for us to get seated and our drinks orders were taken straight away. One Strawberry Daiquiri and one Mango Daiquiri. When it came to food, I opted for the chicken and chorizo paella, Jess opted for a chicken and prawn noodles.

Starting strong with my paella, it was a huge portion and it was delicious. One thing I noted in Costa Adeje was the lack of charming Spanish establishments, so I was more than happy with my dish. Next up was the noodles, if you are a fan of the giggling squid in the UK then this one would probably take your fancy but for us, it was far too fragrant to be a main! However, based on the size of my meal we were able to share and enjoy a pleasant evening ... until it came to leaving.

Due to the volume of travelers waiting to indulge on this social media popular restaurant, there just simply wasn't enough hands to keep up. After asking for our bill we were left waiting for around 20 minutes, once the card machine was bought over he was then distracted and walked away again, over all it took around 45 minutes for us to pay - with empty glasses and plates in front of us.

As a foodie, I would never completely write somewhere off based on our experience of a wait, who knows how many were off sick, accommodating unexpected large parties and of course the pressure of now being in the social spotlight. So if you are in Costa Adeje, I would love to know your experience!

SKY BAR

If you don't know big Mike get to know! Not somewhere you want to head for an all indulgent three course meal, but for a night of laughs it's the perfect place to stop. Home away from home, The Sky Bar offers a sports lounge perfect for shouting at the telly surrounded by rivals like you never left Leeds. The combination of hungry football fans, drunken families and live music makes for the perfect hangover!

The Sky Bar offers a range of cocktails, beers and wines and boasts an impressive variety of shots too. With Mike on the mic there isn't a corner left quiet with everybody singing and dancing. The atmosphere is a true reflection of British culture! Based at the marina, if your eyes aren't on the screen they're overlooking the beach and the ocean. A great change of scenery to the strip.

ROUTE 66

Not your typical recommendation for a dressy evening at the beach, but certainly the definition of not judging a book by its cover. By day the assumption that it will be too 'rough and ready' would be fair, but by night the live music is enough to lure you in and the cocktails speak for themselves. On our first night at the Alua Soul we stumbled into this bar on a whim. It was close, fairly busy and the singer sounded good. From then on we ended up stopping in for a drink every night after too!

On our third night of visiting Route 66 we were enjoying the live music when a squeaky voice began singing down the microphone. Hallelujah, Hallelujahhhhhh. The cutest family affair. There was something so wholesome yet classic Spanish bar entertainment at the same time. Again, an unmatched atmosphere!

But please remember it's cash only and don't end up paying 10 euro to withdraw money like we did!!

Discussing traditional delicacies, the finest pint and where to find the best prawns is something I could discuss all day, but if you're anything like me and find recommendations easiest in the form of brief reviews and lots of pictures then anymore than five may be too long! But, if you are heading to Tenerife and are keen to find out more on the appetite front then please do drop me a message and I'd love to share more!

But for now, please enjoy some extra culinary snaps of our adventures in Costa Adeje:
