Uncovering the UK!

This year, my partner and I are doing something a little different when it comes to travel.

Instead of long-haul flights and exotic adventures, we’re staying closer to home, swapping Heathrow Airport for motorway service stations, foreign heat for the roulette of British weather, and city breaks abroad for weekends spent rediscovering the UK.

Saving for our first home has meant making a few changes, but rather than pressing pause on travel altogether, we’ve chosen to embrace it differently. And so far, it’s proving that adventure doesn’t have to mean checking a 23kg case, a slower travel style is checking just as many boxes (mostly!)

We kicked things off with a few nights in Norfolk, letting the sea air dust off the January blues. February took us to Bath, a city with a cosy village feel, designed for indulging in food, drink, and history in equal measure. Most recently, we spent a long Easter weekend in Cardiff, with a seaside escape to Barry of course.

It may not look like our usual travel calendar, but it’s quickly becoming one of our favourite ways to explore without sacrificing our savings! So, In short, this was a long way of introducing you to a new section of Travelwithem, a corner of my blog to share the corners of beauty right on our doorstep ... welcome to uncovering the UK!
